Show Homes - Northumberland
In the first episode, the ten aspiring designers take on their first big commercial challenge redesigning two show homes in Northumberland. The designers must work in two teams to take on each room of the show home, delivering a cohesive scheme to impress the judges and appeal to prospective buyers.
With only two days to complete the project, and faced with the judges verdicts and ultimately the elimination of one contestant. Will they learn to compromise and sacrifice to ensure that the show home is finished on time? More importantly, who will wow the judges and who will be packing up their swatches and heading home?
Hotel - Bournemouth
Will this weeks challenge leave a bitter taste in the mouths of the contestants, or will it be sweet delights as the designers take on the creation of a hotel room at the unique Hotel Chocolate?
The designers are shocked as they see their rooms for the first time and find peeling paint and damp walls, can they turn around this tired building and create a chic boutique hotel? Collaborative design provides its own set of challenges as the distinct personalities and styles of the contestants create tensions with some designers determined to emphasise their own style over the design brief! Watch as the contestants battle it out to continue in the competition, who will play it safe and who will melt under the pressure!
Shop Design - Nottingham
Arriving at the design studio the designers are put into pairs, and asked to work together as they are each given a different shop brief to design. Before they head to the shops though, first they must meet the shop owner and take it in turns to pitch their design ideas. The twist for the designers is that only one shop brief for each pairing will be chosen, so whoever loses out on the pitch will have to act as an assistant to their fellow teammate.
